Davis Correctional Facility is owned and operated by Corrections Corporations of America
This project was initiated by the Holdenville Industrial Authority (HIA) to stimulate the local economy. Opened in April 1996, the 960-bed medium security institution houses adult male inmates for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Four housing units, consisting of two pods each contain double-bunked cells. The 208,000 square-floor facility contains state of the art safety and security equipment, such as electronic controls and close-circuit television cameras.
Provide basics skill instruction in reading. Class size limited to provide more individual instruction crucial to student success.
Provides reinforcement in basic skills in reading and helps the student gain knowledge in math, social studies, and science
Prepares students to pass the high school equivalency exam to receive a State of Oklahoma High School Diploma
The prison pups program at Davis has its own website.
Pups destined for Assistance Dog jobs are donated by breeders and raised by volunteer puppy raisers. They enter the prison training program when they are around 14 months old and their training is completed in the home of the client.
