In the Adult-Aftermath section, I have a brief piece written by an adoptive mother who has been writing to me for a couple of years. In her private letters, she describes horrific accounts of RAD behavior gone really bad and dangerous in her home. This is especially sad since there are many siblings within that family affected by the RADical behavior. She writes to me because we have bonded in a most unusual and unexpected way: we both understand the language of abuse and rage. It's by no means pretty.

I mean, the parent who decides, "I don't want to be a parent anymore... I have my own wounds to heal"

How adoptions started in Belgium

In 1958 Father Delooz, Franciscaner went to the Belgian colony Rwanda, where he got into contact with the White Sisters of Afrika. The Sisters run an orphanages for Mulate children.

Many colonial men had relations with black women. Only ten percent of these children was registered by the fathers. The mulate children were taken into orphanages by the Sisters. It was not obliged by law, but the mothers were forced to give up their children (also if they could well take care of them).

The Cost of Slick Marketing Skills

There's a language used in adoption that reminds me of a marketing scam that should ring bells in the minds of the average consumer, but for some reason, it doesn't. Perhaps it's the fact that babies and heart-strings are being used and pulled to bring profit to private businesses. Greed can't possibly come to the minds of some to motivate them to become involved in adoption, can it? Money for a new mommy? Is that how some people operate?

The Indian adoption laws are currently being reviewed. Adoptees are concerned that their right to know their identity is not implemented correctly.

It would according to the petitioners practically mean the legalized fabrication of Birth Documents and make it easier for criminal elements to traffic in children under the guise of adoption.

Please forward this to as many people as possible - the deadline is 15 August!
