Psychological Profile

http://www.amfor.net/acs/

Adopted Child Syndrome (ACS)

According to public opinion polls, most Americans agree that adoption is at least a "risk factor" to a child's developmental, behavioral and academic development. The belief that adoption has a psychology of its own is evidenced by clinical studies amassed both prior to and since the late 1940s when the states began making adoptees' origins secret.

That adoptees are prone to specific behaviors referred to as "Adopted Child Syndrome," says famed attorney and Harvard Law Professor, Alan Dershowitz, is just another "abuse excuse" to avoid reponsibility for their actions, including felony crimes. But this is the same Alan Dershowitz who, in his op-ed piece in the LA Times, suggested using "Torture Warrants" -- court ordered to control what Dershowitz calls the "inevitable" use of torture by U.S. law enforcement in the "war on terrorism." He claims torture is "constitutional," regardless that it is also detrimental to a democratic society. He rationalizes that its sanctioning by warrant would make it more accountable and transparent. "If we are to have torture," he argues, "it should be authorized by the law." Notwithstanding that falsification of sealed birth records, and adoption itself, have never been deemed "constitutional" or democratic, Dershowitz seems to be missing the point of our profiling people who are victims of adoption abuse, not as an "excuse," but as a "reason" for the prevalance of sociopathology and violent crime among those whose lives were forever manipulated by adoption politics and lawyers "in their best interests."

A Glimpse at the Mind of a Pedophile

A former priest who served under Mahony in the Stockton Diocese describes his ploys.

May 11, 2005

In a chillingly frank account, a former Roman Catholic priest, promoted 20 years ago by Roger M. Mahony, recently described his decades-long career as a pedophile, including his sexual tastes and how he groomed his young victims for abuse.

Saturday May 10, 2008, 9:00 PM

Last September, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested two men and a woman from Togo who they said smuggled 14 girls and young women from West Africa, forced them to work without pay at hair-braiding salons in Newark and East Orange, and kept them in line with threats and beatings.

It was, one agent said, a case of modern-day slavery.

Some states releasing inmates early

Huge fiscal pressures are causing many to let thousands of felons go free

By Keith B. Richburg and Ashley Surdin
The Washington Post
updated 2:23 a.m. ET, Mon., May. 5, 2008

NEW YORK - Reversing decades of tough-on-crime policies, including mandatory minimum prison sentences for some drug offenders, many cash-strapped states are embracing a view once dismissed as dangerously naive: It costs far less to let some felons go free than to keep them locked up.

Why Kids Kill Parents

Tragedy in the family: When kids murder their parents.

By: Kathleen M. Heide

A father is gunned down... a mother is bludgeoned to death... a family of four-mother, father, and two small children-is butchered alive... by a son... a daughter... a son and daughter acting together.

Is it politically incorrect to seek office from the state pen?

Only in America can a check get you moving towards the Big (White) House.

Unfortunately, "behind bars" has many different meanings and connotations...I wonder what sort of convictions this new candidate has to offer the Clinton/Obama camps?

For the record, I think the phrase "We got conned" is an appropriate come-back, given the nature of paid political workers. If nothing else, the following article sure gives "Public Servant" a whole new image!

There's a crisis on our streets, especially in London, and it has nothing to do with the cost of housing. As the blame game is played out between ministers and bankers over why mortgages are suddenly much more expensive, the price of life in parts of Britain's inner cities has hit rock bottom.

Why is there a lack of rehab for those who need it most?

Lack of Rehabilitation

Over half of prisoners today are in for non-violent offenses because of policies such as mandatory minimum sentences, three-strikes laws, and the "War on Drugs." Yet prison society uses violence as a basic level of interpersonal interaction -guards regularly beat and abuse prisoners, fail to intervene in prison fights, or even instigate fights. Many accounts describe prison guards tolerating or encouraging violence between prisoners in order to deflect the violence from themselves. But increasingly little thought seems to be given to how this will affect prisoners upon release and the communities they return to. Due to the supposed need to be "tough on crime," emphasis on "victim's rights," and shrinking budgets, prisons have given up almost all attempts at rehabilitation. Despite numerous studies showing that education is the most effective way to reduce recidivism, most prison extension classes have been abolished. Other forms of job training have shrunk, and while an estimated 70% of prisoners are illiterate, access to reading materials and even exercise equipment is increasingly restricted.

How to profit from a 'police state'

The booming security business now employs as many as one-fourth of American workers. Here are four companies poised to make a bundle from our penchant for protection.

By Jon Markman
