The US intends to ratify the Hague Convention beginning 2008. To this end they have designated two organisations as accreditors: one of them is the *Council on Accreditation*, in which  Thomas Atwood (President National Council for Adoption and former Board Member of Bethany Christian Services) and Beverly Grant (Director Bethany Christian Services) are members of the Board.

The acceditation process will be done on the basis of PEER reviews.

Ever since the 70's activists have been fighting over the paper trail, a generation of activists stuck in an endless succession of legal battles in a state by state course.  

For some time now we have been looking into the adoption industry, a result of which is our new group Who's Who: The Adoption industy.

If child migration and orphan trains weren't enough, profit through "proper parenting" got cloaked under a new scheme in the big business machine:  Maternity Homes.  After the lull of the Great Depression, business in baby-sales got booming during the hey-day of the Closed Era of Adoption.  This took place during the 1950's thru the mid 1970's.  It seems with war, first come the victimized,  grieving women, then comes a government's unwanted babies. [see Korean (1950-1953) and Vietnam (1959-1975) wars].   When men are taken away from their families, what happens to the vulnerable women with children?
