What species are we again?

Taken from wikipedia:

An orphan is a person (typically a child), who has lost both parents, often through death. One legal definition used in the USA is someone bereft through "death or disappearance of, abandonment or desertion by, or separation or loss from, of both parents". Common usage limits the term to children, (or the young of animals) who have lost both parents. On this basis half-orphans are those with one surviving parent.

In certain animal species where the father typically abandons the mother and child at or prior to birth, the child will be called an orphan when the mother dies regardless of the condition of the father.

We're a species with cash and credit

The more I read about adoption, the more I realize it's a business based on "cash and carry", not at all helping a child who already has a family!

If adoption agencies would focus on bringing babies back to their family members, they would be helping foster-family care.  There would be no need to sell a child back into it's own family, should there?  WHY does a family member have to buy his own child back????  It makes no sense to me!!!

Can someone please explain why so much money is invested in a child, if the child is only neglected and abused, anyway?

Seems to me people don't know how to manage money, their kids, or their lives.  This is what the adoption industry has taught me.

who lied?

it wasn't me!

was it my birth mother?  did she really die?  i don't know

was it my adoptive parents? i don't know.  i can't trust them

was it the adoption agency they used?  i don't know.  they no longer exist

was it the social worker who worked for them? how the hell should i know!

was it the government that told my parents i was orphaned?

i don't know what to believe anymore other than the whole system sucks because it's all based on lies.

and lies spread like wild-fire.
