Victim Awareness: This program examines various crimes and looks at the dynamics of each crime and the impact crime has on a victim. This class uses written exercises and victim impact panels to bring the offender face to face with not just the crime but with the person directly affected by the crime. This class provides the offender the opportunity to step outside their world and look at crime from a different perspective. This program is a 12 - 15 week long program that also includes community service projects.
Stress Management: This group is designed to educate group members about stress and the stress reaction. General information about stress is provided. The biological process of stress is discussed including the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system. Chronic disease associated with uncomfortable stress is discussed. Stress management techniques are introduced along with methods utilized to increase stress resistance.
From the Inside Out: This program is designed to provide tools to assist inmates in exploring why relationships fail, how to build healthy relationships, how to maintain and strengthen relationships. Emphasis is on accountability and personal responsibility for relationships.
