A.S.T.A.R Program: The goal of the A.S.T.A.R Program is to bring forth the "true light" of the once incarcerated individual. The objective of the program is to modify or change the behavior of the participant by impressing upon them that life is about choices and consequences. The A.S.T.A.R. Program is a comprehensive, collaborative and holistic approach to assisting once incarcerated males who have been released or presently confined at the Dayton Correctional Institution to successfully return to their communities and families.
The Children of Incarcerated Parents program at DCI is designed to provide help to incarcerated individuals and their families. DCI works with community organizations to provide intense case management, mental health services, employment and training, education, substance abuse counseling, family counseling, housing and other services. The goal is to stabilize the family structure with the belief that this well aid the offender in transitioning back into the community.
