How old was Madonna when she lost her mother?

Madonna Louise Ciccone (her adopted but not legal second middle name is Veronica) was born in Bay City, Michigan. She was the third of eight children (her siblings are Martin, Anthony, Christopher, Paula, Melanie, Mario, and Jennifer)born to Silvio "Tony" Ciccone, an Italian-American Chrysler engineer whose parents originated from Pacentro, and Madonna Louise Fortin, who was of Québécois descent.
She was raised in a Catholic family in the Detroit suburbs of Pontiac and Avon Township (now Rochester Hills). Madonna's mother died of breast cancer at age 30 on December 1, 1963. Her father later married the family housekeeper, Joan Gustafson, and they had two children together.

OK, this bothers me... and I don't know how it fits, so help me out...
Madonna feels it's her duty to adopt... WHY? I think because she feels the loss of her own mother.

When is enough to fill that hole of hers?
Who caused it and why is she using other people to fill it?
Don't feed the hole
I think that is an astute observation of Madonna. The need for more is present in all she does.
I believe most people who have gone through a severe loss, whether it is adoption or the death of a parent, somehow end up have a hole somewhere. I recognize that in myself and keep myself from feeding the hole. Everthing put into it just disappears into nothingness and makes the craving bigger.
Fill with adopting children?
You, as an adoptee AGREE with Madonna, Rosie and other celebs like those who have lost their parents at a young age, whether through death or divorce, that ADOPTION is the best option to fill that hole?
don't starve the inner-child
I believe we all have a need inside of us begging to be heard, and it needs to be seen, in some way.
Some like to write, dance, or sing.
Some like to paint or drawn pictures, build and create things -- to share with others so it can be shared and enjoyed, and appreciated, as a family.
That's how we express ourselves - by our bodies, without words - but sounds and sights and senses.
At least, that's what I think.
Here is a women who was
Here is a women who was proud to have the symbol as a Boy Toy, and pretty much had sex when, where and whoever she decided to have sex with just t make headlines. Just twanting to be another Howard Stern as a shock to society. She is nothing but a person who was at the right place at the right time. How many more talented people then she, missed the train and became prositutes, destitute and paid for their sins with their lives. Here is the Boy Toy still riding the wave, doing anything to grab headlines, good, bad or indifferent. Maybe she thinks by adopting poor children from third world countrys, God will forgive her, somebody please wisper in her ear and tell her to stop her fifteen minute are up.
And I don't even want to start in on her cow girlfriend, big head, Rosie. What an embaressment to all women, if you can indeed call her a woman. I'm sure her parents are holding their heads high. Somebody tip this cow over.
