When I was in Nursing School, a book was recommended to me by one of my instructors. It was called Toxic Parents. I think I read it in a single afternoon. I thought I understood what drove me to do certain things with certain people, yet I kept making the same damn mistakes each and every time in my more personal relationships.
It wasn't until I had children of my own that I realized my mistakes would become theirs.
That scared me, because I had grown to realize my married life was just like the marriage that almost destroyed me.
