What does your walk say about you?

I'm facinated by feet, but not in a foot-fetish sort of way.  I'm a shoe-freak, and how or what a person wears on his/her feet absolutely fascinates me.  [One of my favorite "shoe-sound" videos is "Walking in My Shoes" - http://poundpuplegacy.org/node/11732 because I love the implied foot-sounds each floor surface suggests.]

Solid shoes, with a delicious clicking sound always catch my attention.  It has to go heel-toe in a clear staccato... <sheepish grin>... yep, that's a sound I could listen to for a very long time.

I have lots and lots of insecurities, but my walk is not one of them.  I'm very conscious of the sound my walk makes, knowing fear and hestitation can be felt and heard miles away.

Anyone have a favorite (or least favorite) walking sound?

Sounds

I love the sound of rhythmic clicking heels, especially when there is a sense of determination audible through it. One of the worst examples I recall was a friend of mine, who would always wear heels, but never mastered the art of walking them, so she would go: click, screech, click screech. Horrible... After that I didn't even care how the shoes looked on her, cause the spell was broken by that horrible sound.

I don't care for elvelike lightfootedness, it does nothing for me and walking bare footed is beyond me, when there is such a huge choice of shoes to wear.

Size and width

<laughing> I believe it's the heel that determines a Good Substantial Sound... and yes, size matters in length and width.  Thin heels, for me are too weak and wimpy... TOO light, lifted and clicky.

I like a tall thick heel, or a full flat surface that hits the ground with a firm sound.

One of my all-time favorite sounds is crunching gravel... it's best with a flat solid leather boot.
