When there's no food to be found and no one has gone grocery shopping, all sorts of fun things can be found as solid-food-substitutes. There's "The Slice-o-Mayo", a fancy version of the Wish Sandwich. Mayo and ketchup pudding, Cheeze-Wiz crustless pie, and my personal favorite, cereal with jelly -- (Rice Krispies works best).
Ah... isn't it amazing how some childhood memories can still remain oh-so-sweet?!
I ate that and expired shelter food for about 10 years after I was ditched on the streets after foster care.. I ate garbage... to survive while I was a youth hiding from foster care on the streets fearing for my life......
A wish sandwich? Beat what I ate for over half my life...
I remember when I was young, I used to treat myself to the spit-out gum strangers would toss in public-places... and I'd drink from empty beer cans/bottles, hoping no cigarrette butts would come floating into my mouth.
It's funny now, but it makes me wonder, WTH was I thinking?!?
Being taken from ones parents and forced into a life that is not their own.... it damages you badly and can take many many years to recover after.
When I was on the streets and in foster care... I didn't think, I functioned on instinct and instinct alone. Foster care deprives you of any kinda of normality... It's not our faults... it's those who forced their opnions on us like it was the word of god... Abuse at home with your parents or abuse in foster care... their is no difference.. except foster care officials make money doing it while parents lose their children... guilty or not.... Again that is determined by some rich goof with an opinion... who thinks they are godly like... who are also profiting off of this insanity....
