When I was about 5 years old we moved to a furnished bungalow for a year, awaiting the building of a house. So I slept in a room without my personal belongings, so in fact, in a stranger's house. That in and of itself was frightening enough, but on top of that there was this horrible painting of a clown on the wall. A dark and sombre looking clown, all dark blues and dark reds. At night when the room was only dimly lit, the clown, in my mind would really come out of the painting and... Terrifying, couldn't sleep well for weeks and I can still remember the fear I had back then.
i have the thing about phones too, but only with certain people, non-vocally expressive type people, who are monotone, i do not like to talk to. i do not like to talk to strangers unless i have been knowing them for a while over the internet or such. But i am much better about phones than i am about forums, emails, or IM's and in that order or worse-ness! lol i always think someone is mad at me, that is why i try and use the little emoticons on yahoo to convey they way my face changes.
For me, it's the chronic theme of "The Not Knowing".
Facial expression... so much can be read in facial expression and gestures.
I still have difficulty expressing my internal panic regarding The Unknowns... and for those who know me WELL... I believe the more I share these thoughts, the more they can appreciate just how word-play is of haunting reminder to me that somethings will NEVER die or go away. In named terms, places, and people, there are some things a person just can't make-up, no matter how dramatic it may SEEM to the average observer.
I will never be able to forget MY Past... however, shame on ME if I make no attempt to move beyond those darkened chasms and seek firmer grounding, so New Life filled with new choices can reclaim my spirit of Survival.
I think this is where personal responsibility and accountability fits in each person's human experience.
Why do you think some people are able to try more or work harder to succeed at Living than others... or do you think people DO make the same efforts towards living fruitful lives?
sheer will, determination, and drive that is born and ingrained in a person. That is what makes some of us work harder than others. Some of us are born with it, and not taught, and some of us aren't born with it but learn to make trying harder a habitual thing. i do believe a person is born with it.
taught, i think it can be learned by YOU OWN actions/reactions to that situation, and by looking at others, but one first has to have some kind of DRIVE i would think to even want to have the WILL to do anything.
They’re ‘universally disliked by children,’ British researchers discover

LONDON - Bad news for Coco and Blinko — children don't like clowns, and even older kids are scared of them.
That's the finding of a poll of youngsters by researchers from the University of Sheffield who were examining how to improve the decor of hospital children's wards.
The study, reported in the Nursing Standard magazine, found all the 250 patients aged between 4 and 16 they quizzed disliked the use of clowns, with even the older ones finding them scary.
"As adults we make assumptions about what works for children," said Penny Curtis, a senior lecturer in research at the university.
"We found that clowns are universally disliked by children. Some found them quite frightening and unknowable."
Sadly, if only it were true that only one or two people were target-minded and quota-geared. That is the way of big-business, so you'd have to look at the long history of child-trade and big money-making before you name what adults make assumptions about what works for children.
Definitlely no! I hate this... colwns since childhood ages. Want to build a concentration camp for that kind of scaring creatures. ___ mobile home loans

For the Adoptee...
It all represents The Face of the Unknown.
I also have a weird 'THING' about Phones.
If I can't see or "read" the facial expressions of The Other Person, I fight internal panic.
a thing about IM's and emails

can't say shame on you
b/c you are trying, that is all there is to life
What's the difference?
Why do you think some people are able to try more or work harder to succeed at Living than others... or do you think people DO make the same efforts towards living fruitful lives?
will
sheer will, determination, and drive that is born and ingrained in a person. That is what makes some of us work harder than others. Some of us are born with it, and not taught, and some of us aren't born with it but learn to make trying harder a habitual thing. i do believe a person is born with it.
do you think...
"It".... Will... can be taught?
Or is it inspired by our own actions/reactions?
dont think it can be
taught, i think it can be learned by YOU OWN actions/reactions to that situation, and by looking at others, but one first has to have some kind of DRIVE i would think to even want to have the WILL to do anything.
There lies the question...
What do you think Inspires a person to Work, or Change "things"?
grounding
something that grounds them and makes them want to do better for themselves, perhaps a child, or a brother and sister...
if not Family
Then it HAS to be A Friend, right?
maybe
perhaps...........
