Do you take medication for skin rashes, bladder pain/spasms, or intestinal problems?

The effects of stress

Often times for me, the first sign of stress is a rash, like eczema, so I'll use an over-the-counter cortisone cream to help clear it up.  Sometimes it helps, other times I'll need a doctor's help to get stronger medication to clear it up.

I have heard from many how stress has affected them with urinary and intestinal problems, from bed wetting at night, and  UTI's (urinary tract infections), to prolonged constipation and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).  Stress, and tension causes biological changes in the body -- that's a fact.  Unattended, and uncared for, these problems can become medical nightmares.

I almost forgot, when I was

I almost forgot, when I was pregnant the second time around, I developed this terrible rash, called PUPPP.  http://www.dermnetnz.org/reactions/puppp.html

I had to take steroidal cream, and benadryl, which really scared me, because I was afraid of the effects it would have on my very large son.

Sure enough, once he was born, the rash went away, but then, that's when my real problems began!

they keep the industry alive and well!

Holy crap!  Between my adoptive mother, and a few friends of mine, their monthy drug bills alone can keep the drug-companies alive and thriving for decades.  I remember even as a child my mother's medicine cabinet looked like friggen a candy-store there were so many colored capsules and tablets in all sorts of orange bottles.  Most were for her "stomach".  The woman couldn't crap, or so she said.    I would think exercise would help that, but what do I know?

A lot of my friends have, or get, bladder and lower-region problems.  Lots of yeast infections & UTI's.  They're a mess.  Literally.

I think being stressed and "holding it in" has a lot to do with that.

Stress during pregnancy

One of the very first articles posted in PPL was brought to me by a fellow nurse and member, Mary.   It  focuses on the effects stress has on pregnancy, and beyond, and it made me think how this is an issue so lost on so many.
