At least the couple will have video-games for the child to keep her entertained and build her eye-hand coordination skills. It's better than nothing, isn't it?
The song playing to the violence is what got me. What mother gives birth, only to have her baby lost to violence? It's heart breaking. It's a loss that cannot be described... and one that should not be felt. I imagine for many, it's a fear most dreaded, that any pain... even "leaving" is better than watching your own child suffer at the hands of another.
There's an old saying, said by a parent before a spanking, "This will hurt you more than it will me". I remember thinking as a child: "How could that be possible? An adult's hand is so much bigger and stronger than a child's body! How could hitting a child hurt the child more than the child getting hit?"
I have seen my child get hit. I have seen my children get hurt. It happens. Sometimes it can be prevented. Sometimes it can't.
NOTHING hurts me more than seeing my children hurt; especially when someone else has made them sad, and causes the damage.
All a mommy can do is hope what she's doing for her baby is best. Many times, that mommy needs help.
Did you notice in the clips, how in the shelters, the potential owners are matched with their pets based on personality? For instance, a couch potato would be matched with a pet that's docile and quiet (lazy,) and an active owner would be matched with an active one.
Somehow, I don't think that's what my adoptive mother meant when she said I was matched to be with them, back when I was a baby.
You know what?... I think we adoptees have little to fear these days, since Fertility Practices seem to replace us bratty bastards anyway. Now adults wanting a child can have their own without the hassle of re-training someone else's' left-over problems.
Sorry foster kids, you're on your own!
If only we could find a way to sell Guardianship to people...

Inside problem
It starts funny, but it goes deeper in meaning.
Why are children placed outside their homes?

Sending them far away isn't always the best solution, is it? Not if it's more of the same.
When will people wake-up?

Adopt-A-Pup
Call me stupid, but for some this may be an alternative.
Pet Adoption Advice
Pets, not people
I'd much rather see animals owned, not people.
