The Idaho Department of Correction provides incarceration facilities for adult felons sentenced by the courts, presentence reports for the courts, and supervision services for probationers and parolees. The department operates a central administrative office, eight correctional institutions, four community work centers, and 22 probation/parole district and satellite offices.
The department is made up of nearly 1,450 dedicated workers. A majority of the employees are correctional officers.
