A Royal Affair

public

by Allison Schumm

Today is the second day of National Adoption Month and it is time for a celebration. Our family joined Missy and Brandon Hoffman of Project Belong in celebrating a Royal Affair in Salina.

This time last year we were celebrating with them for their Heroes event, but it didn't feel like a celebration.  It was also the day we were suppose to meet our newest children, but this didn't happen.  We were still awaiting DCF approval which meant the kids couldn't even know we existed.

The Hoffmans had been part of every aspect of our journey and knew what was suppose to happen.  Knowing this they picked us for the Project Belong Adoptive Family of the year for 2012.  We are proud to be able to share this honor to another family this year.  This year the Sawyer family received the 2013 Adoptive Family of the year award.

Here are pictures of some of the fun we had today at The Royal Affair.
