Kenneth and Kelly Fry sentenced

public

By TYRA AUDLEHELM

After accepting a plea deal for neglecting and endangering their two adopted children Kenneth and Kelly Fry received two years of probation and each must pay a $12,500 civil penalty along with each completing 100 hours of community service.

A judge received around 500 new documents July 18 which set the Fry's sentencing back a week.

The Fry's were charged after records showed that they kept their two adopted children from Ghana locked in a room subdivided by wood with only plastic buckets for toilets and little food access. The then eight and nine year old children were considered malnourished by medical experts and were removed from the home and placed with relatives in January 2018.

Kenneth and Kelly were charged with neglect or abandonment of a dependent person, a Class C felony, child endangerment causing bodily injury, a Class D felony and child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor in June of 2018.
