Third man charged in connection with historical abuse enquiry

CHARGE IN CONNECTION WITH ONGOING HISTORICAL ABUSE ENQUIRY

The States of Jersey Police can confirm that a man has been charged in connection with the ongoing Historical Abuse Enquiry.

Michael AUBIN (45), who was born in Jersey, and lives in Southampton, was charged today, (Saturday 31 May), with alleged offences relating to the former Haut de la Garenne children’s home in Jersey.

Mr Aubin was arrested in the UK by Jersey officers on Thursday.

He will appear before the Magistrate in Jersey to answer the charges on Monday 2 June.

The charges – all of which are between 1977 and 1980 are:

One count of sodomy against a male child

Two counts of indecent assault against two other male children

These charges relate to three separate children.

It is possible that further charges may follow.

Now that charges have been brought, the States of Jersey Police will make no further comment.
