Pound Pup Legacy was founded in November 2006 with the intention to build an interactive internet community dedicated to the needs of those most affected by adoption: the children separated from their natural families.
Being adult adoptees from the closed-era of adoption ourselves, we believe the best place for a baby is with his natural mother, and not be separated unless it is medically necessary. In such medical situations, mother and baby must not be separated by threat, fear, or by the abusive use of power or money as a means of negotiating a child's best interest.
In addition, we believe lawyers and agencies profiting from the separation and sale of a mother-child bond just to provide a couple with a baby is wrong. Any financial focus on the establishment of a Family should be on what can be done to assist the naturally formed bond that exists between a mother and her baby by providing educational resources, treatment programs, therapeutic options, and support groups to provide the positive support and encouragement a mom needs to protect and preserve her family.
Given the choice between Life or Death, shouldn't the natural relationship between mother and child be preserved and protected at all cost?
